The Object of
Boys Brigade is:
"The Advancement of Christ’s Kingdom amongst Boys and
the promotion of habits of Obedience, Reverence, Discipline and Self
Respect and all that tends towards a true Christian manliness".
Boys Brigade is a
Bible based (uniformed) youth group that meets weekly under the
guidance of an internationally accredited program of activities
designed to encourage the spiritual, educational, physical and
social development of Boys.
Successful
completion of all activities can result in the highest international
recognition – the Queens Award – which is normally presented to the
Boy by the State Governor at a special ceremony.

Dates
during the year:
Boys Brigade meets each week
during school terms. We break during
school holidays.
Costs:
The annual fee to cover state capitation fees, most
activities and
the end-of-year awards is
$125 with an “early
bird” discount to
$105 if the full amount is paid during the first
term. The discount also
applies for families with more than
one Boy attending. Given that we
meet approximately 40
nights each year, this equates to about $2 to
$3 per Boy per
night.
Uniforms:
We recognise that uniform can be expensive and
therefore
encourage new Boys to attend “uniform-free” for the first
4 to 6 weeks
before deciding whether they will commit to Brigade.
We also keep a
selection of second-hand uniform to help keep costs
down.
