Grown Ups

We exist...

  • to be devoted to glorifying and enjoying God, reaching out to those who don’t know Jesus, and growing those who do.

We want to see...

  • A vibrant church intentionally serving the surrounding suburbs, the wider community and the world, with the gospel of Jesus in word and deed.
  • A growing community passionately responding to God, maturing in Christ, faithfully gathering together, and serving one another in love.
  • A church that equips all people to pass on the gospel to the coming generations who will impact the world for Jesus in their lifetime

We are committed to...

  • We are committed to the good news that God’s Son, Jesus Christ, gave up his life for the sins of the world, and rose from death to rule over everything.
    (1 Cor 15:1-4; Eph 1:19-22; 1 Pet 2:24; John 3:16,36; Phil 2:6-11)
  • We are committed to clear, Christ-centered Bible teaching that calls everyone to trust in Jesus alone as Savior and obeying Him as Lord.
    (2 Tim 3:14-17; Col 4:4; John 14:6; Eph 2:8-9)
  • We are committed to engaging people outside the church with the person and claims of Jesus.
    (1 Pet 2:11-12, 3:13-17, Col 4:5-6)
  • We are committed to church activity which is welcoming and understandable to newcomers.
    (1 Cor 14:23; 2 Cor 4:2; 1 Pet 5:14; Heb 13:1-2)
  • We are committed to praying to God our Father, in dependence on his rule over all things, and we seek to pray according to His will.
    (Rom 8:15-16; Matt 6:10; 1 John 5:14-15)
  • We are committed to displaying the fruit of God’s Spirit, setting our minds on what his Spirit desires, and seeking the gifts of the Spirit that are good for building up the church.
    (Gal 5:22-26; Rom 8:5; 1 Cor 14:12)
  • We are committed to regularly meeting together to encourage one-another to worship God in lives of loving, sacrificial service.
    (Rom 12:1-2; Heb 10:24-25)
  • We are committed to caring well for all age groups within our church family.
    (1 Tim 5:1-4)
  • We are committed to serving together, generously using the gifts, abilities and resources God has given, for His glory.
    (Eph 4:11-13; Rom 12:6-8)
  • We are committed to encouraging people to dedicate their lives to gospel ministry and to supporting gospel ministry to the ends of the earth.
    (2 Tim 2:2; Matt 28:18-20)
  • We are committed to easing the burden of the poor and the oppressed in our community and throughout the world.
    (Jam 1:27; 1 John 3:17-18)

We Believe...

  • That the whole of the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments as originally given, are the verbally inspired Word of God, supreme in authority and completely free from error.
  • In one true God: The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit: These being the same in substance and equal in power and glory.
  • In the Deity and perfect humanity of our Lord Jesus Christ who was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary, His substitutionary death, His bodily resurrection and ascension, and His unchanging office as High Priest.
  • In the personal nature of the Devil and his desire to draw people away from God.
  • In the fallen, sinful and lost state of all people.
  • In God's provision of full salvation through the shed blood of Jesus Christ from the punishment and power of sin. All who are willing, receive it by repentance towards God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
  • In the Person and work of the Holy Spirit in the immediate regeneration of believers and in their sanctification.
  • In the eternal consciousness of the person, the resurrection of the body, the everlasting fellowship and joy of the saved, and the everlasting punishment of the lost and the final judgment of all people.
  • That the Church is the company of all who have been called of God, born of the Holy Spirit and have been formed into one body of which Christ is the Head.
  • The personal and visible bodily return of Jesus Christ.
  • That the observance of the two ordinances of the Lord Jesus Christ, namely, Baptism and the Lord's Supper is a Scriptural requirement upon all believers. Baptism, being the immersion of believers upon their profession of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. It is a symbol of the fellowship of the believer in their Lord's death, burial and resurrection. The Lord's Supper is a memorial of the sacrifice of the body and blood of the Lord Jesus Christ until His return.

The Good News

Well, the truth is, it's not actually what you do, but what God has done to accomplish salvation for anyone.

There are a few things you must know to be saved

We are sinners, and are all held accountable to God.

...This will take place on the day when God judges people's secrets through Jesus Christ. - Romans 2:16

The bible says that God is holy and we are not. The bible says that all of us have fallen short of the glory of God and that the wages of our sin is death.

How can I be saved?

The Bible provides a clear answer. Here is the answer from God’s Word, the Bible, that tells us how God saves us.

Acknowledge your sin

First, see yourself for what you are… A Sinner!

"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" – Romans 3:23

Sin is tragic, vile…it blights, degrades, destroys. It has dire consequences: “The soul who sins is the one who will die (be separated from God forever)” “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life”

Repent of your sin

"Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out…" - Acts 3:19

Repentance is a change of mind, a change of heart, and it results in a change of actions. You must change your mind about sin and want God to end its mastery over you. After all, sin is so bad it took Christ’s death to make forgiveness possible for you.

Believe in Christ Jesus

"God So loved the world that he gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life" - John 3:16

Believe in the completed work Christ accomplished on the cross. You must believe that Christ substituted Himself for you, that He died for your sins (though He never sinned), and that He was resurrected from death. “The punishment that brought us peace was upon Him”. Our sins nailed Him to the cross, and “by His wounds we are healed. “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved.”

Set your whole life upon that truth

"If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved." - Romans 10:9

You must believe in Christ and receive Him personally into your life by faith if you are to be saved from the power of sin and its consequences. “To all who receive Him, to those who believe in His name, He gave the right to become children of God”. Will you pray to God something like this?

“God, I am convinced I am a sinner, and that Christ alone can save me. I repent of my sinful life and believe Jesus Christ died for me. Please forgive me for my rebellion against You and help me to live with Jesus as Lord of my life.”

If that is now true of you and Christ is your Saviour and Lord, the next step is to get connected with God's people and grow in your life with Christ. We would love to help you do that. You can contact us to speak with someone more about becoming a Christian and getting connected to our church.

Come and Worship

Amazed by Grace

At North Beach we seek to be freshly amazed by the grace of God to us in Jesus Christ and to then respond with lives of worship (Romans 12:1-3). On a Sunday our corporate worship is therefore foundational to that as a community of people as we are reminded of God's grace, as we encourage one another expressing our love for God together.

We would love you to join us at any of our services.

Service Times are at 8.30 and 10:30 am (supervised crèche and children's ministry available) and 6 pm each Sunday (supervised crèche available).

What can you expect?

Meaningful Worship

We are committed to Glorifying and Enjoying God together on Sundays. Our desire in to respond to God's grace to us in Jesus through singing songs full of the gospel, hearing God's word read and proclaimed, giving and serving together and praying together.

Biblical Preaching

We place a high value on hearing God's word taught to us and seeking to have it applied to our lives in the power of the Holy Spirit so we can live it out in the day to day. Preaching is therefore central to what we do when we gather for worship.

Loving Community

Though we are not perfect at it, we seek to serve one another in love, genuinely caring for others and encouraging one another to grow in understanding and appreciation of God's love in Jesus.
