Kingdom Kidz is our regular, ongoing Children’s Program that happens most Sundays in the year during the morning service. Our mission is to disciple our children to trust and follow Jesus as their king and share Him with others. There are programs run for babies, right through to Year 6.
A supervised crèche operates every Sunday morning for babies up to 23 months old. Parents leaving children in the crèche need to sign in and ensure the volunteers are aware of any special requirements. If you are a regular attendee you will be asked to fill in a registration form for your child, alerting us of any medical or other important information. Parents are encouraged to put themselves on the supervision roster once a term. The crèche opens at 9:20am on a Sunday morning and will be supervised until the conclusion of the church service.
Sea Urchins is for children aged two to three years old. It consists of a short teaching time, a DVD and free play. Sea Urchins is staffed by volunteers and parents are occasionally asked to stay and provide extra help if required. Parents are encouraged to put themselves on the supervision roster once a term. Sea Urchins runs throughout the entire service on a Sunday morning.
10 minutes into the Sunday morning service, Discoverers are invited to leave the Main Auditorium and make their way to the Rec Hall. There they will enjoy a time of singing, games, offering, prayer and hearing a Bible story. After this “Big Group Time”, they split into smaller classes – Kindy/Pre-Primary, who meet in the crèche area, and Year 1/2, who meet in a classroom. In these classes they make crafts, have a snack and share discussion time, building on what they learnt in Big Group Time.
Explorers also leave the Main Auditorium 10 minutes into the service, and gather together in the Multi-Purpose Room (MPR). Here they learn scripture verses, play games, pray together and hear a Bible talk based on the passage they are learning, before breaking into small groups for discussion and activities. Explorers also receive “MemCards” each week – collectable scripture cards that form a whole set each term. At the end of 10 weeks, any children who have collected the whole set of MemCards win a prize (plus a bonus prize for anyone who can recite all 10 verses!)
All Kingdom Kidz volunteers have undergone a screening process involving a Working With Children Card, and a Safe Churches Leadership Check.
