Responding to Disclosures of Abuse
If you have received a disclosure of abuse from an adult where
-
the alleged perpetrator currently attends or otherwise has a close association with NBBC;
-
AND
-
poses (possible) risk of harm to others,
PLEASE CONTACT THE NBBC SAFE TEAM VIA THIS FORM (HERE).

Important: Please note that in cases of Intimate Partner Violence (where someone is being abused by their partner / spouse), it may not be safe to submit a report - only do so with explicit consent.
Currently, this email forwards to the Senior Pastor and Chair of Elders (who, constitutionally, are two different people). We are planning to change this soon so that the NBBC SafeTeam comprises the Senior Pastor and a female Response Officer. If you have any troubles with this form, please email SafeOfficer@nbbc.org.au or get in touch with Senior Pastor Grant Hendry on Grant@nbbc.org.au or 0468 361 777.
Before reporting please see the NBBC Reporting Pathways FlowChart (HERE). And please make use of the NBBC Services Referral Guide 2025 as needed (HERE).
Please read a copy of our “Responding to Disclosures of Adult Abuse” governance paper (HERE) for detailed information on
-
How to support someone who discloses abuse
-
When and how to report abuse (both within NBBC and to external agencies)
-
What the NBBC Safe Team and church leadership will do when they receive reports of abuse
You have the option of remaining anonymous, but please understand that anonymous submissions, though taken seriously, may be harder and potentially slower to be fully investigated.
If you are in doubt whether to report or if you feel uncomfortable using this reporting method, you are invited to contact the Baptist Churches Western Australia Safe Church Liaison Officer on 08 6313 6300.
